Jon Venables, killer of Liverpool toddler James Bulger,…

Harry Fletcher, assistant general secretary of the National Association of Probation Officers (NAPO) has revealed that James Bulger killer Jon Venables will face a hearing in front of three members of the parole board within 28 days.Venables, 27, was recalled to prison last week after breaching the terms of his release, the Ministry of Justice said. The convicted murderer, who was controversially freed under a new identity in 2001, was just 10 when he and Robert Thompson abducted and battered the two-year-old to death in February 1993 in a crime that shocked the world.

What happened was sick beyond words, but you have to take other things into consideration. We’re talking about two very damaged children. You don’t know what they’re like now, no one does. Nor do you know what remorse they might have felt. They were only children themselves and they deserve a second chance.

Justice?? I thought the sentance they served was justice? I thought they served their time and it was enough?? That my friend is a joke. Killin a 2 year old kid the way they did, raping the poor little fucker…. man… If thats your mindset when something like that happens….

    @RENEGADEWHA

No, you don’t want justice – you want revenge. There’s a huge difference. You’re thinking with your emotions, not with logic. That’s the problem with you people, your emotions cloud everything…

    @SatansLoveChild88

Very wise comment, I completely agree

  5. tsarita Says:

and what if it was your kid who was TORTURED then killed. would you still feel the same? Please be honest.
Just because people are saying they would do this and that to Venables over the internet, it doesnt mean they would do it in real life. Most of it is just talk. Nothing will bring back James Bulger, the poor boy is dead, but his parents are still alive and they don’t feel a day of justice was served by the killers. That’s what is wrong here. They never should have been let out.

  6. RENEGADEWHA Says:

They walked james down a street by ours, Killed the poor little lad by the bizzy station by ours. Isn’t that something? The fuckers couldnt hear him scream?? HANG THESE TWATS NOW!!! WE WANT PROPER JUSTICE!!!!

  7. EmmaYoyo Says:

Ok the first time they protected his identity because he was underage. But now why? He is a full grown adult. Moreover, we need to know what he did and what he looks like so that we can protect ourselves from him (well me no, since I don’t live in the UK)

  8. EmmaYoyo Says:

I remember when they murdered that little boy. I was just starting to learn English. And I heard this on BBC radio. And I thought I didn’t really understand what they were saying because I couldn’t believe that humans could be that cruel.

yet another agreeable point from an erodite commenter. couldnt agree more.

It’s very disturbing to me the vigilante attitude that so many people seem to have. They describe it as “justice”, when it would probably be more accurate to call it revenge. No one is denying that what Venables and Thompson did was terrible, but simply calling them evil is overly simplistic. They were very young and impressionable, and may have been influenced by traumatic events in their own lives. I believe that they should be given a second chance and the media should respect that.

  12. TheMarkOfTheBeast1 Says:

I consider tabloids to be cheap magazines, not news…

  13. TheMarkOfTheBeast1 Says:

    Agreed

  14. TheMarkOfTheBeast1 Says:

This vigilante, mob-mentality needs to stop. We don’t live in medieval times anymore. Some of the comments I’ve read are disgusting.

They were only fucking 10 years old ffs… what they did 17 years ago is irrelevant. You really think they’re still the same people at 27? I’m not the same person I was when I was 10, no one is…

You people need to get your fucking act together and stop this blood-thirsty idiocy.

  15. davidgwynne1 Says:

fuck off you bloodthirsty ignoramus. keep reading the news of the screws.

  16. davidgwynne1 Says:

what kind of fucked up person are you? presumably you’d be happy if the streets were running with all the guilty blood in Britain, right?
rehabilitation is possible for even the most notorious of offenders, but its people like you who hold society back a couple of decades with your ridiculous double standards. is it still “an eye for an eye” in your world?! what if one of your kids did something like this?

  17. davidgwynne1 Says:

@themarkofthebeast – thank you for being one of the few sensible people here.

  18. davidgwynne1 Says:

and who says he really is that person anymore?

  19. davidgwynne1 Says:

so you advocatre the execution of ten year olds then you sick fuck?

  20. davidgwynne1 Says:

unequivocally correct. well made point and i agree wholeheartedly.
on a similar note, the sensationalist, indignant media in this country is IMO, incredibly harmful to our society’s progress. not just with this case, but with many others. surely the news should be impartial? Besides, any form of rehabilitation is a write off now for almost everything thanks to the media and it’s false indignance. and not to mention the high density of stupid cunts that ACTUALLY THINK THE TABLOIDS ARE NEWS. wow.

  21. alemappurple Says:

Why believe everything in the media put out? Venables identity is unknown, so how is all this info about him available? His identity should be protected,to save him from the blood hounds like the ones posting on here.We don’t need to know anything unless it is serious. You all want to know because of pure nosiness and to get a cheap thrill from it all.The law is dealing with Venables that is why he is in jail. Now we will have to pay 1/4 of million for new identity, thanks to the press.

  22. MrSimoncowell2009 Says:

well the person that the boy worked for should come forward and let everyone no wot he looks like am sure he has pictures taken of him in the last 10 years x

  23. lynnie061409 Says:

This is justice isn’t, who’s supposed to watching these pair of evil monsters, not even supposed to be on Merseyside, but let’s face it, if justice was ever met all those years ago, they shouldn’t even be breathing air!! What a country, what crap sentences, everyone with moral standing knows what should have happened to that pair!

  24. iloveplett Says:

I wonder how many girls have slept with the guy not knowing who he really is.

  25. stracy0 Says:

This has been lifted from a newspaper press earlier this evening…..The 27-year-old allegedly drank cider and snorted cocaine in several of Liverpools popular nightclubs, despite licence conditions banning him from returning to the city without permission from his parole officer.

He is also said to have slipped into Goodison Park stadium to watch Everton matches wearing a team shirt.
